Wonder if anyone here can help - we have an elderly Montego estate car which has a leaky hose to the heater.

Having tried several local garges and motor factors (mid-Wales, 20 miles from Newtown) we have had no joy in sourcing a new one as it is "obsolete" and no one seems to have the racks of various hoses that old-fashioned motor factors used to keep, which would allow us to find one that was almost right and trim it to length.

It's a pretty simple hose, 20mm inside diameter, 28mm outside diameter with one right angle bend in it. It has to fit in quite a tight space, so using straight hose and bending it won't work.

Any ideas where we might find a supplier of such things?

long way from you, but I've had loads of hoses of these giys (local to me). They have hundreds of hoses hanging from the ceiling and shelves more out back.

Usually very helpful and knowledgeable.

Good luck

You didn't give the name of the supplier you've used... Can you let me know please.

Had a look at the web site but can't find anything obvious listed (they don't even list the Montego on their list of cars).

TM, Could be because the Montego wasn't a ford
The Montego was a British leyland model ( Austin ).

Tried Flea-bay ?

failing that.. there's sure to be an 'owners club' ... track them down, and you'll get the part, almost guaranteed 8)

Any of these ?

If not.. try contacting the sellers via their e-bay shops maybe ? .. worth a go !

Try your local Pirtek, they have hoses coming out of their ears and can make one to suit.
