I've just bought one of these:
http://www.oldtools.co.uk/rulers/4062-r ... -1167.html
I gave it a very light wipe with the finest grade of wire wool and a couple of coats of walnut oil. It's a useful length and it's already been put to use. The metric version has sold out although imperial and metric versions are available in packs of ten (why?).
All that said, compared to my antique Rabone two foot, four fold, the quality isn't there. The old one has the numbers engraved as opposed to painted on as in the above version and it's made of lovely old boxwood which this one isn't. Nonetheless, the one on offer is a useful thing to have on the bench and as far as I'm aware, they're not made any more (unless somebody knows differently).
Disclaimer: I have no connection with Old Tools except as a customer on two occasions.
