Christmas on the way, sorted out the workshop christmas tree today, bit worried I've gone overboard......

One way of using pallets

the second "branch" looks a bit wonky - good effort though!

You are starting to get the hang of this woodworking lark...

Pete

I'd be a bit more impressed if you told us that you'd made it out of last year's xmas tree......

Not over the top, but you’re way too early. As I heard the other day, there are 12 days of Christmas and none of them are in November.

When I was at school we decided we needed a tree for the sixth form common room. Someone bought in a 15’ branch of Leylandii and we shoved it into the corner of the room which had 9’ ceilings. It was then decorated with beer cans. Job done. :ho2

Are you gonna be selling plans on how to make it please ?

It's a post-EU tree, none of this conforming to an approved and rubber-stamped uniform and symmetrical nonsense. Also tastes better.

You need to get round to Tate Modern with that. There's bound to be some numb b*gger there who'll give you a couple of hundred grand for it.

I would ask for a copy of the plans too... but I don't have a fancy pants CNC like wot Bob's clearly used here.

That's not cnc work Nelsun. and clearly that's not the result of an expensive toys-for-boys a.k.a. "boutique" tool sucker owner either. Probably not a beginner who has paid more than thrupence and a half bobs. Low angle anti gravity planes can't do this! Just a fad. To achieve this level of finish all you need is some ply baton, a tin of leaded dark green shop front paint and for those who are proper woodworkers like me just your first three baby teeth glued into a scrap of pine offcut with badger roadkill gum. If the Egyptians managed for three thousand years just by looking really hard at wood why do we need to improve on that?!?
Anything else is just a cynical ploy by a nefarious underground network of capitalist shady toolsellers trying to topple the socialist nirvana of complete inclusion of the idea of 'One Tool Good. Two Tools Bad' mantra.

Oh wait. Have I gone over the top?
Here's a mad idea. I apologise like a man.
Sorry got carried away. My bad.
Cheers now.
Chris

I was dropped in it last year, “how’s the Christmas tree coming along I asked you to make“, err, what Christmas tree is that? The one to represent the parish council at the local church! How long have I got, till tomorrow morning, but it’s lunchtime, I’ve only got an afternoon....

So here’s a fancy version of the pallet tree....
