Hand plane advice

Sorry kieths today i read the article again after reading these posts and my apologies as later on in the article the clifton plane did do extremely well especially for comfort and as for what i want a plane for at the moment i am just getting into woodworking as i am still on doing up my house so at the moment i would use it for hanging doors shaping wood for various tasks but once the house is finished and the warmer weather arrives (as i don't have a workshop) i am going to attempt my first project as yet i don't know what but i am thinking along the lines of a dog kennel that can be easily taken apart and put up again as in the summer i do a lot of caravaning and its not fair on the dog to be out in the sun all day or stuck in the caravan for that matter.

me thinks the wife will enjoy using this more than the poor dog...
