Hi all,
I came across this forum a short while back and after spending several hours browsing though I decided to sign up but for some reason havent come back until now
Anyway I stumbled across it again and thought it was time to introduce myself.

My name is Richard Maguire and I make furniture for a living, I try to work exclusively with hand tools trying to follow historic techniques. I strongly believe that hand tools can be as efficient as machines for an individual furniture maker. (although I do own some rather nice machinery for those special occasions  )

I know I will pick a lot up from reading this forum and i hope to give some back as well.

Cheers for now

Richard

Ah.....it is you!!

Hello and welcome Richard. There's plenty of old friends on here, although you won't always recognise the names.

Mike

were you the original Lincolnshire apprentice? you seem well known around here :)

I use hand tools when its too dangerous to cut something small with machinery, but I have two cuts on my hand today using them.

Welcome to the forum, I look forward to seeing your workshop tour

Maybe you will be tempted to get involved with the comptetition due to start on here shortly?
