I spent 5 days with Mr Abbott 1 to 1 learning and building a windsor chair from log to finish. Wonderful time. I shall be doing more when I can find a good source of local straight knot free green timber, although I have to say that I think I'll be using the powered lathe not the pole lathe. Pole lathes are great out in the woods where there's no lectric but in the workshop, I don't think so. I do love sitting at the shavehorse with a sharp drawknife though.
