Glass to timber should not be sealed with foam glazing tape - this is a product primarily aimed at the uPVC market, purely to prevent the quick easy removal of DG Units - i.e. breaking in, not for sealing them in.
For glass to timber - if it's single glass, glazing grade silicon is common as is a glazing compound - such as butyl glazing compounds in a tub.
If you are glazing DG units into timber there are other BS solutions.
