Hi,
I have an old saw bench that I use purely to cut chords of firewood on. I believe it is a German made British import. R Becker/Keissling. It has a single phase AC motor.
Some days when I come to use it I need to wiggle the belt to free up the blade so the bearings need attention. I've put some grease into the top port but now realise that I need to also open the relief port and have old grease coming out of there. Only question I have is, what type of grease should I use for this? Would multi purpose grease be okay? Greasing is a bit of a dark art to me as the only other thing I've ever greased are bicycle hubs with lithium grease and that was quite a few decades ago.
