Most graphics programs give their brush thickness measurements in pixels. I would like to be able to convert from pixels to millimeters so I can be confident that when I print a page, its lines will be exactly the thickness I've chosen.

Is there a way to calculate this conversion?

Thanks Ray - that's cool but I believe the answer it gives depends on the resolution you're working in.

I've been doing a bit more research and it appears that when using vector graphics, 72 points = 1" . So if you set the vector line thickness to to 2.83pts, you get a line 1mm thick. I've just experimented with a vector line set to 8.5pts and printed out a line which for all intents and purposes is 3mm thick - and that's the magic answer I was looking for :) .

Thanks for your help anyway.
