cor blimey!

he's obviously selling up and scarpering abroad or he's 'done over' some poor blokes workshop.

either way i cant really see any bargains there

Another spurious set of bids - notice how bidder1 has put the first bid in for all the big stuff !!!!

Bit too near xmas for me I think but the shipping on a 3 quid book really should not be 9 quid (should it?).

Also I always get a bit twitchy when you don't get to see an actual picture of what you are buying - just something pasted from a website.

Or is it just me ?

Ebay has stopped revealed bidder IDs, so instead they just call them Bidder1, Bidder2 etc in the sequence that they bid.

I think he tried to sell the lot for in one go for £40k or so early this year, and there was a thread about it then too.

The prices he's asking are pretty high.

???? i can still see the bidders IDs :?

Seems a bit suss too me too.....a guy with all that stuff, which all looks as if its never been used and also has " How to use" books and DVDs. Or maybe i am too sceptical

Well it was only a suggestion  if your worried dont bid

It Just struck me it seemed like a gentleman hobbyist money no object type of thing, more money than sense got bored then decided to get rid but maybe thats just me  Sales from widows selling their husbands old tools are the saddest ones

I've done well over 200 ebay transactions with only one problem one and that was sorted for me out by record power tools, but then i always try to be careful

I am an Ebay addict but it is getting less now. Too many traders on there. Genuine bargains are rare but they can happen. Most people think they can save a quid or 2 but dont see the postage charges.
Long live Ebay i say but its just like car boot sales now with the traders. No problem with it if the prices reflect the whole idea of auctioning, most of them have "Buy it now" or a reserve of teh same price as in the shops.

Mr Spanton it was nice of you to direct us to the site and i was tempted by a few items myself until they have now reached silly money.

Can you get councelling for buying on E-bay? I think I need it as I am continually buying tools, mainly routers!! Is this normal, or is it just that SWMBO moans a lot about it? :?

Boy is my face red - haven't bought off ebay for a Long long time and are a bit rusty and a bit of an idiot -

Oops - -Thanks for putting me right.

Well, bidding finished on most of the stuff earlier today.

The prices were very high. I bid on a Lie Nielsen BUS and bronze no4 smoother, but both went for only around £10 to £15 less than the new price from Workshop Heaven in their sale, and thats buying unseen and secondhand, crazy ! Also suspect the no4 had the old style chipbreaker rather than the new due to bieng 12 to 18 months old. Not that I'm dissapointed or anything

Just trying to decide whether to place an order for the new version no4 bronze smoother which is £25 off in the sale, as a xmas present for myself. If today continues as it has they are probably sold out by now !!!

Cheers, Paul. :D
