Getting sub titles on youtube.

After opening the youtube app via Sony tv and qbox Im struggling to get sub titles turned on.
I play a video.
Then press right button on qbox remote a bar pops up with a CC icon but try as I may I cant navigate to it.
Any advice please?

on my tv, watching youtube, you press up which brings up an info box, and then a bunch of options including a cog for settings, which I think includes subtitles, maybe qbox works differently

Can't help with the specifics, but a relevant diversion is the BBC R4 series "Word of Mouth" which did a really interesting programme about subtitling.

A later programme in the series was about audio description, similar skills but different output.

No problem on my PC - on the RH lower corner of the screen, is a box enclosing 'CC', just click it & subs come up. (unless I'm on the wrong track, that is). As far as I know, the TV should show the same. ?
