... let there be light ...

I need what I'd call a "task light". It would be something like and Anglepoise lamp so that when I, say, hand-cut a joint, I can actually see the thing!

Any recommendations please?
 
Yeah, no Ikea in Cornwall - one of the bonus points for the place... I could do with some suggestions myself; I went through a rash of braking the darn things and am a little embarrassed in the task light department at the mo.

Still, this leaves us with a prob.

Thanks brianhr but I'm also wondering whether a free-standing or clamped one is best?

What about the "bulb vs LED" debate too?
 
I used to use a halogen work light from screwfix - plus points it was very bright , minus points it was also very hot - and eventually it set fire to a heap of shavings and incinerated itself. (but fortunately not anything else arround it)
