Generic kreg screws?

I wonder if there are generic screws that works with pocket hole jigs

At work we just use normal washer screws.

I don't use my kreg jig that often but when I do I just use an ordinary csk screw - either spax, reisser or goldscrew plus - whatever I have to hand. I've certainly never used a kreg screw and have never had a problem although I'm careful not to over-tighten the screw and to measure to make sure the length is correct - ie. it isn't going to come out the other side.

these have a full length thread which I think is not best for pocket hole joinery.

well, I just saw a wollcraft pocket hole set with this kind of screw.

I think I have some at home (rocket brand..), I will try to use them on a test sample vs some kreg screws and let you know.

BTW, they are almost at the same price tag.. it is just a question of disposability.

i use 1 1/4" csk for joining 3/4 material. holds pretty well
