Hello, since I retired 11 years ago I have enjoyed my hobby of woodworking very much. I have been lucky enough to build an excellent collection of good quality tools, equipment & machines. Unfortunately, last year I was taken seriously ill with heart problems. The NHS has done a wonderful job of "patching me up" but sadly I'm not in a position to carry on the hobby - I don't have the energy and medications mean that I need to be very careful to avoid cuts and bruising g if at all possible. So I've decided to dispose of my workshop collection. I'm wondering if it would be of interest to any members or their contacts as a "job lot" There are tools from Veritas, Lie Nielsen, Axminster, Pfeil, etc and machinery from Festool, Bosch, Axminster etc. All is in good condition and well looked after. I'm not giving it away for peanuts but on the other hand I'm happy to let it all go for what would be a bargain if someone were interested in it all as a "job lot". I realise I'm not being very specific. Ideally, I'm open to someone reasonably local (I'm in Greater Manchester) or who is willing to travel and has transport for the stuff to cast an eye over it and make me an offer. Failing that, I would begin to list things as individual items or sets on here or on eBay.

I would be interested in peoples views on this idea. and am happy to provide further information as required to those with a serious interest. Best wishes Keith Cocker

Hi Keith

Sorry to hear about your health troubles.
I think the group rules on selling require you to list the items with price and pictures. And it might also motivate people further from you to pay you a visit.

Good luck

Hi Keith

Very sorry to here of your issues and there impact on your woodworking. I would suggest selling as a job lot would be great but not likely unless you are very lucky to find that person. The forum rules do require pictures and a price, maybe just doing a few of the larger items first to get a feel for the market and then when someone turns up you could show them the other items.

Thanks Roy, I appreciate your thoughts. You are right, and I really wanted to test the waters. I'll take up your suggestion of listing some of the more significant items here over the next few days to give something more substantial for people to consider.

best wishes

Sorry to hear of you recent health problems, but glad you’re on the mend.

I live in Sale, so shouldn’t be too far away. I’m only working out of a shed and have quite a few tools, so I’m afraid I wouldn’t need a job lot, but would be interested if you had a scroll saw or benchtop piller drill or bench saw.

Thanks

Nick

Similarly to the poster above, I'd be interested in a couple of planes

Hello Nick, thanks for your kind thoughts. I'm happy to look at individual items. In terms of what you are interested in I have:

Benchtop Pillar Drill - Axminster Craft AC315PD - https://www.axminstertools.com/axminster-workshop-aw315pd-bench-pillar-drill-230v-107691
Current Price new is £299. I'd be happy with £100.00 and could include an assortment of drill bits and vice.

Bench Saw - Mine is a Festool Sliding Compound Mitre Saw KS 60 E-SET 230v https://www.axminstertools.com/fest...3639?queryID=20b28a1276efccf68c3629807d66acad New its £981.00 so a bit pricey - Id be happy with £400 and could include spare blades.

I don't have a scroll saw.
All the items are in excellent condition. let me know if these are of interest to you or anyone else and we can arrange a viewing.

Best wishes

Keith

Hi Kieth, im unlikely to be able to take everything, although id love to! however i am in the process of moving workshops and selling my house so means and opportunity have peaked my interest. manchester is a 5 hour drive for me but if you could maybe send a picture or two of everything, as a job lot is fine dont have to be individual so i can gauge if its maybe worth me popping up, or atleast giving you a preliminary offer on what i would be interested in.

I'm with @Spectric on this one Keith.
You have some premium kit and some hobby kit in the mix.

People starting out never quite know what they want, and don't have the budget / confidence to committ to a workshop full in one go.
People in the hobby will have decided high end, low end or like you, a mix, but will be shopping to fill in or upgrade an existing toolkit.

The only folk who will buy it all are clearance types and traders who'll want it for 10p in the pound so they can flip your gear for a profit after covering their costs.

Take photos and list the big items, then when arranging for people come to collect, let them know what else there is so they can bring some extra cash.

Maybe make yourself a list and price it in advance to reduce stress on the day. One of the most useful numbers to know whenever selling is the cheapest price a buyer could get your item for new. Then at least you'll know what 10p or 50p in the pound would look like.

Good luck and I do hope you can stay active.

Thanks Keith. I’ll take the drill for sure.

I actually meant to type bench bandsaw. As much as I’d love the Kapex, I don’t have the space. I’ll drop you a private message

Hi Keith. I’d likely be interested in a few bits and bobs as I put my workshop together. Festool rotex sander if you have one, possibly bench or floor mounted disc sander and a bench bandsaw. Clamps as well are always handy, could do with some 6ft or thereabouts send me direct message if you like.
Thanks
Col

Everyone.
We have strict rules over how "for sale" listings are made and managed on UKW.
Out of respect for Keith as an established member in good standing, I am minded to let this thread remain, but the for sale rules are the rules and this isn't a precedent for anyone else. It will be refused.

Members are free to contact Keith by PM about anything of interest. Keith is also very welcome to make for sale posts for his items in the usual way.

Thanks for your understanding. Thread locked.
