hi all can any one give me an idea of how good the fox table saws are,im thinking of buying a new fox 36-530.This saw has a sliding carrisge,10" blade and cast iron tables, any help would be appreciated .

I have the SIP ten inch which is very similar its robust no frills the fox sliding table would take up to much room for me those rods are long. but a sliding table is handy for panel work my saw blows 13amp fuses so needs a separate power supply.

I have the 10" Fox with sliding carriage and its a nice machine which I would recommend. There are a few similar ones around but they are all much of a muchness as far as I can see.

The sliding carriage is very useful once it's set up but the angle gauge that comes with it is useless. The fence is nice and solid but I don't trust the scale and always check the distance from the fence to the blade for doing any critical cuts.

It's pretty powerful and solidly built and so far I have had no problems with it. Mine works fine on a 13A socket.

Cheers
Mike
