I'm too honest I know - but might save someone some cash if they want a rubbish saw anyway !

I think the description to sell it might be

"Entry level saw from well known supplier in as new condition with x months warranty remaining"

??

Now there speaks the car salesman, almost smooth enough to be an Estate Agent.

My first TS was from Screwfix. Ferm I believe. Strictly from the pictures, the Titan looks better made. The Ferm scared the bejesus out of me. I used it once and then bought the Triton (not Titan). For £50 you could probably get this going enough to bang out a couple of projects, learn a bit about tablesaws and hopefully keep your fingers.

I dont want to sell it under false pretenses !

The miter gauge was rubbish so I made a sled to fit the slot.

the saw is usable and for a 1st TS maybe Its ok. with a zero clearance insert and a half decent blade it could be a usable work horse ?

I dont want anyone to get false expectations tho ! it is what it is !

if no one wants it - it will go on ebay :? with the same title :)

I have this saw and can attest.

But with a hole cut in the blade guard for extra extraction, a decent cross cut sled made, and a new blade its come to life! Perfect for rough ripping.

Hey Wizer..My first table saw was also that Ferm from Screwfix..the green one yeah? It is still my only table saw and it scares me too...When I see people using their table saws in so many brilliant ways I am dead envious because I just find mine so damn scary..Its not the best quality and the blade is rubbish but I do use it occassionally for ripping up..What would be a decent blade? Oh..I did make myself a zero clearance insert plate but raising the spinning blade up through it was pretty damn scary also...

Yeh that's the one Timmo. My one used to literally jump sideways when I turned it on. I never got as far as checking things like it's squareness to the fence and slots. If it isn't and isn't adjustable, then bin it -honestly. A better blade will give you a better quality of cut, but won't improve accuracy. If you've used it a few times and kept your fingers then it's time to upgrade. There are some good tablesaws in the budget range nowadays.

Yeah - I kind of treat it with the contempt it deserves and don't use it much...Totally boring to you guys but we have actually applied to emigrate to Canada so there is no point be buying anything electrical over here as I can't take it with me...A decent table saw and a P/T are high on my list after buying new routers...
I know I saw someone had bought a Porter cable router from the US and run it successfully on a yellow 110v transformer over here but I am not sure about other power tools and I can make do for now...Although Veritas planes etc are about a third cheaper at least over there....

just incase there is any confusion - the saw Wizer and Timmo are talking about ISN'T the one I am seling :)

How odd, there is another Tim on here who is going to Canada

Yes..I thought I spotted that too although I wasn't quite sure small world eh...I can't wait and am looking forward to buying new tools..

Hi

i have that table saw, (the one that's for sale) - its not bad but i wish i shopped around a little its like it totally rips the wood - rather than a clean cut (surpose can't moan for the price! - but when i did buy it, half the fixings were missing - but im looking to upgrade now - after a couple of months...

but its a good 1 for a newbie to table saws to get the hang & feel

Years ago the most successful car sales showroom in Luton would occasionally advertise such.

For sale,

Alpha Romeo,
Rot box in the classical Italian mould,
Taxed and insured ready for some silly person to drive away.

It's reported that a dissatisfied customer complained that his purchase was rubbish, When the company pointed out that they had stated so the punter replied that he hadn't believed it.
