Thanks for the positive comments :D . Although I must admit I like the first one better(well atleast when I stand them side by side).
Thanks for the headsup on the sorby tool deals Paul, Father Christmas is now going to bring me one of the scrapers(means waiting 3 weeks though :-({|= )
Loz, I don't think I would have liked a foot on the first, I like the way it just comes up from the base in one simple line to the neck. The sides are about 3mm thick.

cheers JT

I'm in shock  , I went to see my folks this morning and took these two hollow forms and a couple of other bits and bobs to show them. They had company who seemed to like my things especially the two hollow forms, and asked "how much would that sort of thing sell for","about £20 each" I said(not really having a clue what to say), The guy looked at his wife who nodded and he said "OK we'll take them" 8) 8) 8) 8)
£40 in hard currency, couldn't believe it :D . I think its the first time in my life I've made some money from something I really enjoyed doing!!(not to mention the satisfaction that my work will grace someones mantlepiece)
I'm going to invest my money sensibly though..........in a celebration take away curry and beer or two for tea tonight :D

Congratulations J. It's a special feeling when it happens like that unsolicited isn't it. If your lucky word will get around and you'll get a few commissions.

Well its been another good day today, MrsJT's mate came round who is a council tree officer and brought me a nice piece of walnut, some laburnum branches and then went out with MrsJT giving me shed time 8) (perfect!)
I made this from another piece of the free 'firewood' that the first of my hollow forms was made from.

Great display of the woods character johnny, you certainly haven't picked an easy form to tackle there.

Another nice looking piece JT. :D
Nice looking wood whatever it is,and well finished.
You seem to have picked the hollowing up pretty well.

Thanks guys :D I'm really getting into these :D
One more that I made this evening, made from a piece of laburnum, finished in danish oil, which it will be getting a few more coats of.
