This I did last night. First time I have turned a fruit. I bought the leaf 2/3 weeks ago. All comments welcome.

Malcolm.
That is a really good attempt at an Apple  Only joking
Seriously though it is a nice shape for a pear, perhaps the neck part is a little too long, and there is some tear out that can be seen. :(
What is the wood used :?:

great looking bannana Malcolm, er pear sorry
really like it, how did you hold this while turning it, and do you plan on making more of them.
keep em coming..

Is that what you call an "oak apple"

Well Done Maltrout !

in the true style of Benny Hill ... " Ooh what a lovely pear "

Nice to see some turned fruit again...
keep meaning to try again.. last 'pear' effort resulted in a wood lightbulb

Hi Malcolm,

Good first effort =D> =D> Looks like you got a good finish!!

My best advice for fruit turning is to go and buy one and study it. Take all the measurements off of it and then turn a copy (ish). The main improvment tip I could offer would be that on pears the stalk part doesn't go in (like an apple) and usually pears don't stand up (at least mine don't  )

HTH
