If they'd stump up the money to develop a vaccine for cattle it could be resolved in 6 months or so. The vets were hoping for something by 2023 but at the last herd test they still hadn't heard anything.
Must be cheaper than (minimum) biannual tests and compensation for those found to be reactors. Think it's currently around £1600 per cow, plus cost of killing it and disposal of the carcass.
Oh, and deer and foxes can carry it too
