Thats it i've just bought my first Festool tool. Just got in from buying a TS55 eq with all the bits and bobs so far it looks good.

Think I will just admire it for awhile before I put it to use

trouble with all you southern jessies, you have too much money to spare

'S funnyI bought my first Festool after I moved oop narth. There again, I did happen across a very helpful and friendly dealer who is (fortunately?) just far enough away that it's a special trip.

Chipp71970 - did you spot the free invisible self-attaching skis that come with all Festool products........... They are silent and totally unobtrusive in use, they are beautifully engineered, they work extremely well and will carry you down the slope effortlessly.

Just enjoy it....... :D

Nice one Greggy keep the old North south divide going

I showed the wife my new purchase and all she said was "err black and green yuk"

Women eh

That's good isn't it means she won't want to see it and everytime she sees another green and black thing (inanimate wise). she'll be so disgusted she won't realise it's yet another festool

I'm lying towards this setup rather than a small table top saw....but I'm still saving my pennies. Did you get a special deal? if you don't mind me asking? Deal Deals seem to be scarce on these items!

Cheers

:)

its like going into a bmw showroom and asking for a grand off for cash, they will turn round and say if you want a discount go to ford i e dewalt. so therefore deals on festool are like hens teeth.

hi i'm new to the forum but it seams a really great place. enjoy reading every ones views

about festool, i own a couple of festool kit and they are great, i spoke to my local dealer a couple of months ago and they said that festools fix the prices and wont let the dealers offer discounts. they stopped suppling to a couple of dealers because they were discounting. this is why the price is the same where ever you go.

don't know if this is all fact, but it is what i was told by my festool dealer.

but i did find that they can throw stuff in with the deal FOC. Look and the festool web site and their newsletter, for example i bought a MFT1080 and got two SORTAINER (boxes with draws) for free(= about £130).

festool stuff is great have 5 things from them so far and all work really well

thanks DaveL

its nice to be welcomed any were else except the local tool shop, and thats only cus they want my money

Most Festool dealers offer a 20% discount off the list price which (roughly) brings the cost of the tool down to the Euro equivalent price in Germany.

See http://www.festool.de to compare prices.

EBay gives a good Festool price indicator with several authorised dealers advertising Buy it Now prices which equate to a 20% discount plus free delivery.

Walk away from those who refuse to discount and do the same with a BMW dealer!

The patter of feet walking towards the exit door with, " Fair enough. I'll give my order to XXXX.", is a powerful price dropper! :D

damn right dymas, thats just what i docos i never buy at full price, i allways barter and get what i want. remember you can go anywhere with cash in your pocket

I have always bought my festool stuff with a 20% discount, sorry didn't make that clear earlier. but if every one is offering 20% discount then its not really a discount, i hope that noone ever buys anythink at RRP.

i will be asking the festool guy at the next local tool fair

If they were controlling prices (and I have had a dealer tell me the same thing), Minden won't admit it because it is illegal.

Oh yes

I did get a good deal lots of freebies and a good price but I cant tell anyone or the tool shop will send a hitman after me lol

glad you heard the same think jake, think i was going mad.

glad you got a good deal chipp71970, be careful of the hit men they come wearing black suits with green details and they cost twice the price of the rest, but are really good at what they do
