Thinking of getting 125 sander too anyone recommend a particularly good model? Use - shaker style doors (mdf) carcasses, wooden work tops etc.
AFAIK there's only two Festool 125mm sanders - the ETS125 and the gear driven Rotex RO 125. They're very different animals; ETS 125 is compact and lightweight, but has a short throw (~2mm) so not great for aggressive sanding. The Rotex is capable of fine sanding / polishing, or very aggressive material removal in Rotex mode, but is bigger and heavier - can be a handful until you're used to it, too.

FWIW, I keep the ETS 125 in my 'everyday carry' box, and, along with a DTS400, can cover a lot of ground with just those two.

Nice one! I'm guessing it's a good price, I'm only just on the slippery slope so haven't been checking prices out too much. Definitely getting a Domino, although place where I got ts55 and midi are only £10 more expensive including VAT!!! Thinking of getting 125 sander too anyone recommend a particularly good model? Use - shaker style doors (mdf) carcasses, wooden work tops etc.

Cheers.

10 days can't come fast enough.

A fair price I think. They are not giving it away, but are a few quid cheaper than anywhere else I have seen. Is there a single ts55 model now, and a single ts75?

Anyone care to share the name of this shop. I have never used a Domino, but am very tempted to try one out

Don't forget festool will come and demo any tool for you on site or at your workshop, they usually give you a money off voucher too.

How do you get someone out to do a demo?

I wouldn't mind someone coming and doing a domino demo in the workshop!

Just contact festool and they will put you in touch with your nearest end user demo guy

Very tempting to get a Quadrill.... I always fancied a Protool one but they were tricky for non-pros to get I think - only places like Hafele stocked them IIRC
However, with an old Festool NiMH 15V cordless drill set - ie with the right angle , the off centre and the ordinary chuck - seems a blinder to get a corded drill which they all fit. Has anyone bit the bullet yet and bought one - or have an old Protool quadrille - would love to hear
Thanks all
Mark

Sadly the Protool stuff has a different mounting system to the Festo accessories

There was only one UK stockist for protool that's warren at toolfest in Woking.

He's put up videos of the new tools that arrived yesterday, on you tube.

Hi Peter, yeah the mdf is replaceable there are torx screws inside the lid. I'm guessing you could take the whole lid off too if you wanted to swap it on to a larger systainer.

The mdf is an odd thickness I measured the edge and it's 16mm. All I can think is it's machined to thickness by cnc.

I got it for £44 from powertool supplies also bought the cxs set for £207

Great for working in houses and small spaces like we do. I've been meaning to build my own mini mft but now I don't need to.

Thanks for that - just ordered one from Toolfest; as ever, could have done with something like it today, so looking forward to having something with me in 'the stack' at all times. I did make myself a mini-MFT, but it was too big to lug around, and never with me when I needed it, sigh.

Did your CXS arrive as well? Great little drill/driver, wouldn't want to be without mine, and so useful in tight spots; powerful and very well thought out. Well worth getting the set for the angled head and second battery.

Cheers, Pete

Yeah ordered the cxs last week with this sys mft. They delivered the cxs set last week but mft didn't arrive in the UK until yesterday.

I would've ordered from warren at toolfest but he had sold his last cxs when I rang him.

He's got a festool morning coming up soon, should be good as theres quite a few new tools to demo

When Festool go to the stores etc and for demo days, and you buy that day...do they tend to throw any extra's at you. For example buying the Domino df 500, can I expect anything discounted

James

Not really James , better off just talking to the dealer. I do know however that if you get a demo guy come to you then they give you a voucher.
