Ducttape + henry hoover hoses ( $6-7 for the long 4-5m ones).
won't look as pretty tho.

Well, it depends what you are after, but even the 'real thing' is cheaper than that - and it includes the fittings: http://www.powertool-supplies.co.uk/fes ... 5m-as.html

If you don't need anti-static, the basic version is £54 http://www.powertool-supplies.co.uk/fes ... x3-5m.html

Both are also available by the metre.

I got this 36mm hose, which is supposed to work better than 27mm for a Kapex/mitre saw https://www.toolstoday.co.uk/stihl-3-0m ... -for-se122. It isn't anti-static, and it kinks quite easily if used in a mobile way, but that isn't a problem for a static set up with a mitre saw. The end fits directly into a Festool CTL extractor.

The Toolstoday hose looks as though it would do, I want to attach it to the Festool 27 tool adapter, I'll then need to figure out how to attach it to my Fein port.

After reading this and having a quick search I've noticed Mirka do anti static hoses for there sanders for a bunch of money less than the festool or Bosch ones...

I'm not sure if Mirka are the same size fittings as Festool. I had to buy an adaptor for my Mirka sander and that's very tight on a Festool hose.

Following this thread with interest. Festool hoses are good but do seem over priced. I bought the 36mm hose (the non anti static one) as id been told it improved dust collection on the kapex. Was slightly dubious but there is actually a big difference and i wasnt disappointed.
It does seem to have a wider nozzle on the end than the one above though. That looks to have the 27mm type nozzle at the end.

Another benefit for me is it improves the festool dust extractors for use as a vaccum

Ive seen the mirka hose before i think i was told it was tapered starting off around 36mm and tapering down to 27 along its length.

Separately i had a nifisk for a day. It was an amazon warehouse deal but when it arrived it didnt have power take off as per the listing so it went back. While i had it i checked and the festool hoses were interchangeable at the vac end. It looks to me like mirka vacs are rebadged nilfisks..

Wish we could have a knowledge base on this site of quirks and compatibility. Lots of threads like this come up

I think I owned a Festool dust extractor I would use their hoses. The Festool strategy is obviously to get you to buy their dust collection products with their tools. They seem to purposely make it very hard to adapt other dust extraction products to their tools.

I don't agree with that.
If you use a rubber stepped hose adaptor you can connect Festools to other brand hose/vacuums.

I notice that whilst watching Peter Millard's video

... there are further videos in the 'up next' column.
Just to be clear, I was specifically using the Mirka 22mm hose so it would fit into the 'hose garage' on top of the CTL Sys. The actual tool & vac. connectors were Festool.

Re. the Mirka hose linked to above, it states that the hose is conical, so 27mm at the tool end, but no indication what dia. at the vac end??

Cheers, P
