As my new workshop nears completion, it is time to start filling it with boys toys. Today I will be collecting the first machine a Startrite 175 TA bought from a member on the forum.

The easy part will be the loading, the challenge will be getting it into the workshop, lots of muscle required and a dry day.

Do you know how heavy a ta175 is?

one person job if need be

the top comes off with perhaps 6-8 bolts easily carried by one person
the base with motor and tilt arbor is again very light perhaps 50 kg

No mobile base then?
No not at this stage but it is in the planning since space is at a premium. I will also upgrade the fence and possibly the motor

. Yes it is not too heavy but if you've had a hernia op 2 weeks ago then that is way over the safe limit

Manage to get it in the workshop - know what I am going to do this weekend.
