Morning all!
Over a few beers with a mate the other day, the conversation swung onto the topic of 'If money was no object - what would you do?'.
He's really into guitars and music production, so he described in detail how he'd have a massive studio with all the gear etc..
When it was my turn, I have to say i was a bit stumped! Despite lurking on here for a while, I still don't have too much of a clue as to what is the 'holy grail' of tools.
I did know that I'd want a work shop with separate areas. A large main workspace to house a large TS, probably a bandsaw, SCMS, RAS, router table, pillar drill/morticer, PT'r, Sanders etc.. I'd also want a large workbench with all the relevant vices/dogs etc..
I'd also want a separate, humidity/temp controlled room just for timber storage. One end for 8x4's with a large selection of sexy hardwoods (as well as someone to tell me how to work with them   ) at the other.
Whilst I'm at it, I'd like another, closed off area for design/office work. At the mo, my 'design studio' is a stack of sawdust covered printer paper under my workbench. I'd like something akin to an architects desk with some uber-computer with SU and a massive monitor. Just because I can!
Along with all that, I'd have a kitchen area and toilet. Hell, perhaps even a bed!
Not sure on size for the whole thing. The main workspace would need to be big enough to take 8x4 sheets being swung around the place, with high ceilings.
Hmm, why does the phrase 'All the gear and no idea' spring to mind?
Soooo. Time, money and planning rules not being an issue: What would you do?
