Who else has had days like this, where a project just won't come together, or a mistake has put a spanner in the works? Here, this is what happens when you make a picture frame with too little stock...
Yes, have tried to eek out a project from too little stock and ended up having to claim the extra piece of contrasting timber is a feature, honest I planned it that way
There are many cases in my workshop where things were not thought through...
My bit box looks alright but
I can not reach the bits in the second row or at the back; I need cut resistant gloves or to take the pieces in front out first... Plenty of Bumble DNA all over that box.
My fold away wheels on work bench
It is easy enough to lift and use foot to fold away but the wheels fold out, creating a trip hazard when walking around the bench. Many bruised toes from kicking wheels...
and there are plenty more but no need to embarrass myself further
Sometimes while trying to plan for every eventuality we miss the most obvious. I’m no stranger to this phenomenon but always thinking of a good get out of jail card ..
They say that failure to plan, is planning to fail. But when it comes to making things one can't really be expected to imagine every possible scenario.of what could go wrong, And,, sometimes the very thing that we do go out of our way to avoid is the thing that ends up happening.
Perhaps a quick prayer to the patron saint of woodworkers/craftsmen wouldn't go amiss before we start our project.
