Quick Eye Exam...

This will blow your mind...!

Just do it - don't cheat!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try this its actually quite good.

But don't cheat!

Count the number of F's in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE
RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC
STUDY COMBINED WITH THE
EXPERIENCE OF YEARS

Managed it?
Scroll down only after you have counted them!

OK?

How many?

Three?

Wrong, there are six - no joke!

Read again!

FINISHED FILES ARE THE
RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC
STUDY COMBINED WITH THE
EXPERIENCE OF YEARS

The reasoning is further down...

The brain cannot process the word "OF".

Incredible or what?

Anyone who counts all six F's on the first go is a genius

Three is normal.

Well I must be a thickie, coundten them twice at the beginning and still got three

I got six as well, but I used to do quite a bit of proof reading, so am used to reading things carefully if I need too. It probably helps to ignore the meaning of the text when doing something like this.

I counted 4 the first time - registering the last F easily. Then, I re-read it and got counted six, before scrolling down.

Having picked up the last of/F (probably because I was hunting the last line for some kind of trick) I was quite surprised to spot another 2 Fs when I reread it...

honestly I counted 6, you kind of get into the "being caught out" frame of mind and take extra care.... or at least I do.

have to be quite accurate at work so I'm used to reading carefully (timing diagrams and technical text).

however my spelling is crap........ :)

agreed... got six but cos you said it was an eye test etc so paid more attention... it the same as

paris
in the
the spring

florida
in the
the winter

tho it hasn't formatted correctly so will make less sense.

aslo the brian can raed aolt of wrods corectely eevn if the splelnig is worng as it only nedes the frist and lsat letrters to mkae snese.

how many words were wrong and how quick can you read it.

I got all six first time, but in fairness I have seen this before. First time I did it I got 4, same as others, looking in the last sentence for a trick I pick out the lasst OF, but not the previous 2.

Same hers...At least we are honest

So was I!

But if you see a post that is obviously all about testing your observation, surely you take it slowly and read carefully?

I think that's the kicker Mike. The first time I saw it it just showed the paragraph and said 'count the F's', there was no indication it was a test. Then when your scrolled down it told you what it was looking for. Just a little less obvious.

I was agreeing with you on this one Mike, but first time I saw it (last year or so) there was no indication, just 'Try this'.

Cheers
