I need to extend the flue from my Unica 28 HE combi which is at the moment protrudes about 12" below my carport roof.

..condensation is the problem with water dripping from the pvc roof sheeting.

Am I allowed to do this job, or do i need to have it fitted by Gas Safe?

Thanks for any advice.

I have been advised I can fit an extension to the immediate flue outlet..in the form of a
pluming kit and reposition the flue outlet only.
My flue outlet is 200mm ( 8" ) below the carport and is open at both ends and there is no obstructions opposite the opening.

The message I received is as follows..

..the fitting instructions for the unica give a minimum distance of only 25mm for the flue terminal below the carport, therefore it is not dangerous as long as the carport is open at both ends., the best way is to get a gas safe engineer in to extend the flue to a better area or if the manufacturers instructions allow it, to fit a pluming kit and reposition the flue outlet only.

Opinions on this please...

I'd be tempted to fit the extra flue components myself at a time when the boiler is next to be serviced. If there were to be any impact of the new parts on the boiler performance/combustion products, this would be picked up at the service and adjusted accordingly.
