Your right, whether Evil or Herpes, still the same poor service
Thanks,Phill.Great work Stuart keep it up.
Found the old axe ( hatchet) head while digging a hole for a fence post, thought it was a stone lol . Been there for years but was in decent shape so I’ve cleaned it up , can’t believe it’s not rusted away so it could be old good quality steel ..Will the hansle handle fit? I bought one which didn't, so I kept it for the ash wood, the cost of returning it was as much as it cost. Cheaper & easier to go around to S/fix or T/station for new axe.
The handle I bought was thick enough, but not deep enough to fit correctly.Found the old axe ( hatchet) head while digging a hole for a fence post, thought it was a stone lol . Happy New Year Stuart missed you too on JT but building a model of Victory is a good enough excuse'Ey up Cozzer.Very busy with HMS Victory build, hiding in the bulkheads! I've given up the 'Joke Thread' - too many go over me 'ead! I found myself wasting too much time on PC instead of working in t'shipyard.
Well fore warned but fingers crossedThe handle I bought was thick enough, but not deep enough to fit correctly.
Sounds like a win to me ,,hope you don’t end up paying £7 for a box of Xmas crackers ..Result!
Well, maybe....
Having moaned at Evri, and the seller, all of a sudden he decides that I've cancelled my order and issues a full refund.
No apology from either party to speak of...shrug of the shoulders attitude from both.
So...it's a fair bet that the mystery package at the sorting office is the missing Evri "Don't worry! We've got it!" parcel, so I've paid the 7 quid to RM, and it's being delivered tomorrow. This means that if the guess is correct, I'll get my package for £7 only!
<< Thinks...watch it be broken! >>

Must of had that stamp for yearsI did get stuffed for £2.80 for a Christmas card last week, courtesy of someone using an "old-style" stamp!
First class, an' all!
Must of had that stamp for years
I was just thinking that if you had to pay £2.80 the value on the old stamp must of been low ..anyway hope you get your goods ..Not really...phased out sometime '24?
The new ones have got the barcode down the side...ugly bloody things.
Certain items seem to be able to be delivered to my local store but not all. , it seems to be a selective service .We have our Amazon stuff delivered to our local post office, no minimum order then for delivery! I realise that's not convenient for everyone but it's a good option to have. I believe you can have deliveries to other local shops postage free.
Just realised the stamp was completely invalid ( excuse my senior moment )I was just thinking that if you had to pay £2.80 the value on the old stamp must of been low ..anyway hope you get your goods ..

I didn't realise that! Perhaps I've just been lucky with stuff I've ordered so farCertain items seem to be able to be delivered to my local store but not all. , it seems to be a selective service .
I think but I could be wrong but it has something to do with how drivers they have in a particular areaI didn't realise that! Perhaps I've just been lucky with stuff I've ordered so far
Thanks err-'Thingy', & an "As Happy as can be New Year" to you & all.Happy New Year Stuart missed you too on JT but building a model of Victory is a good enough excuse
I had one exactly like that a couple of years ago. I'd ordered drills. I went to the post office and it was a cheap pair of sunglasses. It took weeks of wrangling. It was a scam. By the time I actually got the package I couldn't get my money backItem off eBay, ordered/paid 2nd January. Supposedly located in the Midlands, seller has 99.x% reputation, free p&p using Evri.
As you've guessed, no sign as at 11 January...
The Evri tracking number assures me "we've got it!" but then it's a case of "it's on the way!", but never "out for delivery"....hmmmm.
On the 10th, I opened our letter box to find a message from our local Royal Mail sorting office, saying "the sender didn't pay the proper postage" and requesting £7 in order to release....but what?
I have no idea what it is. If it's another overdue Christmas card, they can keep it!
There's nothing else I'm waiting for...
Ambled to the sorting office to find that it's only open 2 hours a day. I was 20 minutes late.
I went again yesterday, when they're open 8-12. Except they weren't. "Staff issues" meant they'd closed early. Hand-written note, sellotaped to the door. No apologies for inconvenience.
Consequently, I've still no idea what the item requiring me to pay 7 quid is....
Back home, I'm struck by the coincidence - a missing parcel from Evri, and an unknown item at the Post Office....
I try to track the Evri job..."Claire" the chatbot (God help us...) suspects the package may be "misplaced", and asks me to wait a further 2 days.
I try to contact the eBay seller....he's out of office until Monday....
And this is where it all falls down, isn't it?
If one element faulters, there's a whole string of complications as a result.
So....if the package at the PO is what I suspect, how come Evri claim to have got it?
And if somehow it's ended up in Royal Mail's system, why should I pay £7 for something that was advertised as "Free, Evri Tracked"?!
