Joe, This particular piece came from a tree taken down in a friends back yard in the Blue Mountains a few years back. It looked pretty ordinary as a blank and I was quite surprised as I roughed it out, in the end the whole colour, grain and spirals etc worked out very well, it should sell well.

As to how, layout, carving and a lot of sanding all done by hand.

Thanks for the info on the wood,,,, Blue mountains take some beating for sure,,,,

Went to Pops shed in Melbourne just for a "look around" and saw some real nice blanks and met the owner ,, had coffee and a natter,, that"s what I call a great day,,,

Like to get hold of some of that redgum wood !!!!
