I would like to suggest that it may be really helpful for people who are starting out if there was a survey of the main power tools used by the members. What I'm thinking of for example is:

Table saw. Startrite. Xyz. Jet xyz. Hammer xyz. Etc etc

Hobby.
Single trader
Small workshop (2~4 people)
Large workshop (5 or more people)

When I started out I was very unsure what I might need and also what to buy. A lot of questions and some mistakes and I have now arrived at a good solution for me. This type of information would have been invaluable to guide me and work out whether I was looking at the right type of machines or tools.

Sorry everyone, a very newly on posting stuff, do you know how I can move it to be a better location?

you cant- a mod can, but there is a series of posts called "forum users...". it covers routers, table saws and a few more.

There are numerous threads relating to equipment types owned by members, both current and in the past if you read through them and one or two listings of specific machines.
Any form of comprehensive listing is very time consuming to maintain and needs an individual to take it on, even then it falls over almost on a daily basis due to it not being a priority in the minds of someone earning a living or changing focus and not bothering to update details.

Also from a security point of view in this day and age when it's very easy to trace most individuals even from the user names on forums and trading sites I personally don't think it's a good idea to flag up your complete kit if it's of an attractive or valuable nature in one convenient package and location.
If you are in a hobby status you are unlikely to have anything other than basic home security in place.

The most useful function I can see on a forum are member reviews of individual equipments, suitably updated by the member if time and experience throws up anything significant.
