I have been looking into the record power ss16v , I am not too familiar with trusted brands however record power has been recommended for various other tools . my only concern is its low price
Although I will be entry level I am also hoping to progress with a machine that I am familiar with rather then constantly up grading .
my question is what kind of projects can I hope to achieve with the record power and also could anyone advise on what machines to stay away from .

ok ive found a few posts and have come to the conclusion that it really would not be worth getting this saw so looking into second hand saws possibly a hegner a lot pricier but gives me a bit more confidence in my purchase.

As above. You'll soon regret buying an entry level one. They are generically user unfriendly most of the time.

The Record saw is one such generic clone copy of every other ''budget'' scroll saw, but they have excelled themselves with the new model by taking a huge step backwards regarding blade tensioning.

A second-hand high-end saw will far out-perform a brand new cheap one, every time.
