Jim Kingshott's M/T, DT and two plane videos were available on DVD through Fox Chapel - advertised as Region 1 though actually Region 0.

Unclear if these have been discontinued (rumours of distribution rights issues in the UK, at least,) but there are still copies floating about stateside.

To be fair, Jim only trots it out along with some other examples of markers in his collection. He doesn't go into great detail on it's use, but working out how it functions is not rocket science. I think that it looks better than it functions.

It's in his vid on dovetails and as I said earlier, he ends up using a home-made saddle marker that he knocked up out of Perspex.

I'll do my best Neil. Got Grand-daughter's 10th birthday taking centre-stage this weekend, so leave it with me pse?

I always use a sliding-bevel to mark dovetails tho! (And a pencil of course!) :D

John :)

I too have an Elwood cramp, but unlike Argus I've found it works well for small frames.

As well as making a replacement for the missing corner you would need, of course, a suitable length of stranded wire to link the four pieces of the cramp. Bowden cable, such as bicycle brake cable (just the inner) would be suitable.

Cheers artaxerxes, was planning on giving it a go anyways, I often get on with stuff others don't, and more often don't get on with stuff others do!!

Know anything about block planes??

Cheers Benchwayze, whenever is good for you.

Mahking - what did you get? Planning on a return trip tomorrow? I reckon tomorrows the 'bargain day'!!

Argus - Anything that helps my DT's has gotta be a good thing!!

Dunbarhamlin - no-one has been able to give me any idea of monetary value, any ideas? TBH I may let it go if I don't get on with it. I am thinking about the ultimate cop-out ; a Leigh!!

Cheers all
Neil

Sis sent me a set of Jim K's DVDs from Foxchappel US last year, about 19$ each I think they were.
