Farmer Giles
The biggest tool in the box
I have a new larger capacity mitre saw and I can't justify two saws so reluctantly I'm selling this RAS that I bought from another forum member who kept it in tip top condition.
I've continued his tenure and kept it well, everything works, nothing is held together with cable ties or duct tape.
I've changed the blade to a new 60T Atkinson Walker industrial blade that made a difference to the cut and hasn't seen much work since. I've also added a Mr Sawdust table with iron bars in it to stiffen the top. Comes with a CMT dado cutting block.
I can include some of the extraction fittings i.e. the pipe on the blade guard and the hopper that catches dust sent backwards.
The top is two pieces of MDF with grooves routed in it, filled with steel bars which are fixed with epoxy before gluing the two pieces together with PVA. This is then topped with a sacrificial piece of 6mm ply screwed down with brass screws in case you catch one in use.
The top design is per Mr Sawdust, his book is included in the sale, he was a RAS guru and worked for DeWalt back in the 50s or 60s. The fence can be quickly swapped for any height fence in about 30 seconds.
£220 collection only from Todmorden/Hebden Bridge area of West Yorks.
Cheers
Andy
