Elu DS 140

I have an Elu DS140 and am having difficulty getting the nut which holds the blade undone. Any one else been there? How did you sort it?
Any suggestions. Is it a left hand thread?

I have the first Dewalt copy (DW700) which is identical to the Elu and yes, it has a left hand thread.
