Ebay does have more +'s than -'s for me anyway, but I find it's full of tyre kickers.

Items I've had for sale recently have had quite a few watchers, but it only ends up with a couple bidding.

A mate of mine had a car for sale a few month back, & had 128 watches, at the end of the auction not one of them bid

SS.
.... many watchers are folk with a similar item and they're interested to see the price it fetches.

To a certain degree Roger, but not all 128 of them, you'd have thought at least a couple would have been interested..

I watch a lot of stuff and rarely bid. Often the highest bid goes higher than the amount I am prepared to pay so I don't bid. Often it's just to 'bookmark' the item until I decide if I really want to bid on it.

Dear Sawdust,

as I mentioned a bit earlier, (or possibly didn't  ) I can see your point of view but hopefully we've tried to point out the other side of the coin. It all boils down to whether you would like to be treated the same way as you've treated others. I appreciate a lot that you've come back and admitted you've been "told off". If this is genuine and you've rethought something we've all won, welcome back to the fold.

regards

Ross

I'm afraid I'm one of the phantom watchers; at any one time I'll have watches on a dozen or more items. Sometimes I do it to gauge a likely price for something before I go to sell to make sure it's worthwhile, sometimes it's to establish a price range for something I'm looking to buy, sometimes it's just out of sheer curiosity. Once in a blue moon it's because I'm actually trying to buy something...
