Dying my beard without making a mess in the bathroom

Can someone kindly suggest ways of dying my beard without making a mess in the bathroom when shampooing it out?

Try a towel. That's wot I do.

Mind you, I haven't had that much experience as I've only had it since 1973.

Nowt wrong with coming from Wolverhampton. Probably the best thing anyone can do.

The answer is not to dye it, but to use a french polish made up with the darkest shellac flakes you can find. That way, you can do the deed in the workshop and not the bathroom. You may have to substitute a long-bristled brush for the usual polishing rubber or mop, though.

Alternatively, find a builder's bucket large enough to accommodate your head, and use it dye both the beard and whatever hair you might still have at the same time. Remember to hold your breath whilst doing so, though.

If only half of it is grey, you only need to shave half of it off - the rest can stay. That would save having to dye it for a while.
