I have just bought the aformentioned dust extraction unit wasn't a lot of money (under £100) that i wanted to use as a temp solution as i will be hopfully extending my workshop next year and have the room for somthing more suitable, it will be used on Planer thicknesser Mini Max, Kity table saw and kity spindle molder all with 100mm dust outlet. Has anyone used one of these as i think i may have jumped in with minimal research, im not that impressed as i suppose its cheap for a reason but i am thinking of returning it and useing my 1100 watt vacuum with attachments?

You cannot live too many miles from me! I too took advantage of collecting a demo/show vac from the place not far from New Cross hospital. Mine is the 1100 version and all I can compare it to is my Hetty vacuum and an ebay cyclone that I attached to a homemade ply box.
That worked well for about a week and then just stopped working with just about everything ending up in the vacuum.
The Lumberjack is way louder. I reduced the hose size to 50mm. I reckon it collects about 80% of the stuff coming out of my planer thicknesser. I’m not sure if that is down to the not so great sucking power of the vac or, the terrible plastic dust extractor on the Titan planer.
I suspect the 100mm hose would have worked better but in my garage would be overkill for everything apart from the planer thicknesser. I have gone back to using Hetty for the small belt sander and spindle sander.

Having sounded like I have a downer on it, it certainly seems to fill up quickly so it must be doing something.

Yep picked it up from the same place, having studied pretty much everything i have decided on a return tomorrow, I carried out a paper bag distance test although very crude my current little 1100W vac pulled the bag to the hose from a greater distance so power is a isssue, the filter just falls off into the collector box, noise is very loud and motor smell kind of makes me think motor duration is limited.
Thanks for your input
