Well I took the plunge and ordered the 386, so should arrive later this week... :D

Cheers, Ed

Well, made the modifications to my Kity tablesaw that others have previously described - Hopper at the bottom and all holes blocked up in readiness for the extractor delivery.

The Camvac arrived this morning with a dent in the bottom and the lid bent where one of the motors fits to it, so its back in the box awaiting collection. New machine on its way to me next week hopefully.

Disappointing as I was hoping to get it all connected up and working this weekend  . Oh Well, RAF Waddington air show tomorrow. :D

Cheers, Ed

Ed - having got back from Jockland yesterday and just picked up on this thread...you won't be disappointed with the Camvac, great piece of kit. I've had mine installed a couple of weeks and intend to use it as the heart of a decent extraction system later on. Make sure though, that you fit the two pipes into the motor outlet ports as it reduces the racket by about 75% (channel them behind some sort of other machinery, but don't obstruct the air flow) As a bonus the exhaust air can also act as a low pressure blower for cleaning out other machinery (routers) The other thing I like is that it has a small footprint so takes up half the space of say the Ax2200 and can be tucked under a bench if need be. I also intend to buy at some point a thingie so that it can be remote controlled...having seen Rods (Harbo) the other day it's a really good way I reckon to control machinery in the 'shop - Rob

Yes, based on the various threads recently, including yours, I'm sure its the right machine for my application. I'm planning to keep my ADE1200 for the P/T and swap hoses to share the camvac between the tablesaw and bandsaw.

As you suggest, I may go to a plumbed in system at some point. If I do I will put the Camvac in the double garage downstairs from my workshop and duct up into the shop, thereby avoiding the noise and making emptying the waste easier (straight out to the bin). That way I can also pop through the floor next to the machines and keep the ductwork on the ceiling below. Going by my joblist that ones a way off though!

Cheers, Ed

Hello Ed. A bit late in the day but I'd like to add my twopenneth. I've had the Camvac CV336-2-250 for about 4 years. I've connected it to a 2 1/2" six gate system (also from Camvac). It coped quite well with most chores and especially well with my planer. I've just finished an upgrade to the system that incorporates a 'Dust Deputy' cyclone, an inlet modification to the Camvac (yours will already be so equipped) and a 4 gate distribution box made from ply and copied from an article in an American publication on dust control whose title I can't recall at present but will dig it out if you're interested. The end result is great, if a little noisy. Most of the stuff I read before starting the project said that a 2 1/2" system was not a good idea but it works extremely well in my smallish (8' x 13') workshop. The machines connected are: lathe, table saw, band saw, 6" planer, thicknesser, table router, bench sander and random orbital, obviously not at the same time Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Jim

Sorry to hear your problems Ed, hope the next one arrives in better condition!

For completeness, just thought I'd report that the paper filters that were a "to follow" item on my own delivery, arrived by post this morning in a huge jiffy bag.
