I've never used them so can't comment either way, but I do find it odd that everyone seems to say that their products are superior.
Presumably they simply buy in rolls of blade stock from the manufacturers and then weld up individual blades to order. Well, dozens if not hundreds of saw doctors all over the country do exactly the same thing.
I can't imagine that Dragon (or anyone else) has a monopoly on the supply of a peculiarly superior brand of blade stock.
So what is so different about the blades that Dragon supply?
Cheers
Dan
No difference as far as I can tell.
It's not that long ago that everyone on this forum was raving about a firm called Dure Edge, saying they had the best blades, the best service etc etc. They eventually had a supply problem so members looked elsewhere for blades, and someone found Dragon on Ebay. And ever since then............... you can guess the rest .
At the end of the day most if not all of these firms are buying in big rolls of pre made saw blades made elswhere in the world and welding them to the size of the various machines.
In the quality blade manufacturing market there isn't that many firms making them. Even Axminster who's blades in the past were not that clever have upped their game recently.
I buy from Hamilton they are good blades and are generally cheaper than Dragon and give a good service.
It's fair to say that if you bought a new bandsaw in recent times usually (not always) the blade was of a average to poor quality, so any decent blade was always going to work wonders.
