Does a plastic table saw handwheel repair count?

My friend Stuart recently purchased an older Craftsman table saw with a broken handwheel.
The handwheel mates with a hexagonal nut to activate the tilt mechanism.
The plastic was split and did not grip the nut with enough force to work properly.
I dismantled it and mounted it on my lathe for the repair job.
Epoxy and hose clamps (along with duct tape) will fix just about anything!

You could use a crimp type clip to make it look neater, but hey if it's a choice between looking pretty and working, then working wins every time. Great believer in using what you have to hand.

Bigger the better generally. As the saying goes you can do little stuff on a big lathe, but you can't do big stuff on a little one.

Nice permanent fix, not having a lathe I would have to resort to the jubilee clip and some epoxy.

It is a SHELDON 13 x 36 INCH M-SERIES LATHE Catalog # TE 1236 P, Circa 1951, similar to this one, but with a chip tray:

Very nice, I thought I had seen the headstock before in the dim and distant past an old guy I knew had one here in the UK and he loved it I always wondered what happened to it when he past.

I have a Holbrook CB 8 with the electronic speed control.

Harrison 5a here, a smaller machine 11x24 with a gap bed so you can do bigger stuff close in to the headstock.
