Do you remember Train Simulator MSTS

It would not install on those later windows computers, if interested I have got hold of this link describing how to go about.

D dubya, that is a lot of effort to drive a pretend train. Surprised there isn't a newer version. I've still got MSTS in the archive, and last time I ran it was on XP. Quite a few hours went into it, I remember. Do let us know if you get it to work.

Your post got me thinking of a small free online TS that I tried and couldn't master, London Underground two trains and two stations.
So I googled to see what was about - http://www.learn4good.com/games/online/traindriving.htm I am sure its not want you mean by a TS, but the game is addictive.

What I enjoyed about the old MSTS was the track and stock making facilities that could be done and shared with other enthusiasts freely.

We would construct computerised stock of carriages, engines, and landscapes and it would have been good if realism could have progressed but I think because Microsoft and other commercial entities could not compete with us free loaders, so they dropped the program.

If I restart I will post.
