Yep.....................................................it's ruined my trainers, sorry needed cheering up in wet Norfolk.

It's sunny here!
I got fed up waiting to fill up at my local filling station, tourists fill up then walk around the shop etc, can't get near the pumps and so I filled up with the ULS. Coincidence? Dunno, but it's the first time I have known a diesel back fire!

Roy

not on diesel but with kerosene the reduction in the sulphur has caused havoc with a certain boiler burner manufacture`s oil pumps as the higher sulphur in kerosene helped lubricate the gears in the high pressure oil pumps, don`t know if its related as with lower sulphur in diesel, i found this link you may find usefull http://www.helium.com/items/158390-lubr ... iesel-fuel, i think it depends on the age of your car.
hope this helps.
cheers, mark.

don`t know if its related as with lower sulphur in diesel,

Apparently yes Mark, it's listed as 'having lower lubricity!!' From that I start thing sticky injectors, sticky exhaust valve.
After frightening the life out of other motorists i drowned the ULS with conventional diesel and no further problems.

Hey Roy

All I can buy here is the ULS. Been doing this for about a year or so.
No ill efects so far. I do try and fill up with fresh fuel ie Truck stops where there is a big turn over.
I have had a diesel for over 10yr and no backfire

I'm driving a 10/12yr old car Travis, apparently newer vehicles are designed to cope with it, but not the old 'uns.
The annoying thing is that the filling stations/oil companies are saying nothing about it. Here, where I live, there are many old diesel Land Rovers for example, plus, due to the mild climate, road salting is unknown so vehicles do last a long time.

I don't know if it make any differance or not my diesel is a 7.3L V-8. I use it to tow my RV mostly. ( have been guilty of hauling some wood/lumber at times.

Alas mailee, this foto was taken last winter (one of the coldest in many years)

I wish for some of that snow now. We are having one of the hottest summers
we have had in a long time. We have had temps rangeing from 100F to 111F
for the last 50 some odd days and no sign of relief in sight. We may be going
back to the Dust Bowl Days of the 1930's. I hope not. Needless to say, my lumber stash is bone dry.
