DG and cost of laminate foil/Titanium Dioxide

I'm looking for some DG UPVC windows (using Rehau product) and want to understand the difference in cost between white [1] and a simulated wood finish which uses laminate foil.

All DG providers want more ££'s for anything other than a white finish.

[1] My understanding is that Titanium Dioxide is the most expensive product to produce "white", so why is a dark colour (which uses less of Titanium Dioxide, or none) more expensive? Is laminate foil really more expensive?

It's the economies of scale. They make hundreds of white ones to every coloured one.

"Woodgrain windows" are usually white profile with the additional process of an applied wood effect foil layer. It's the addition of the foil that makes it more expensive to produce .
