Pleased it worked it's always hard adding a part from another machine, If you want to send me some dim's of the bracket and holes you need to replace the wood I can make one up out of metal for you.

Thanks for the offer!
Honestly, I can't fault the wood, I'm going to make it look a bit better, but it's solid.
I think I could move the whole machine by this bracket now, the only reason I didn't try is that I don't want to misalign the tables.

Maaaybe one day if I get my hands on a MIG, I will try to make this out of metal, but I'm perfectly happy with it for now!

A little sneak peek of what's coming 😄
I'll finish it in the new year, but I've made some knobs and a longer guard out of aluminium, it now covers the entire cutter block.

I've seen people make shorter guards so that they don't stick out as much when jointing. So another way of looking at this is that I've already got one! 😄

It took a while but the guard is in place!

I've replaced the rollers, and found the cause of the nut coming undone when switching off feed.

This piece was supposed to rotate freely on the round shaft, but it was rusted solid. WD40 and couple taps with a hammer managed to free it up.

I cleaned all the parts with abrasive wheels and sandpaper, greased everything and it works beautifully now, everything is smooth and sturdy.

I'm glad I had to take most if it apart, a lot of places needed a good clean and grease.

I'll have to polish the tables and check everything for square but I did a test run with some pine and even with old, dull blades it did the job, looks like it will be a great little machine!

I have that machine with the guard. I’ve taken the tables off as I only use it as a thicknesser now, it I can take some photos and video of the guard if you would like.
@Fitzroy you mentioned you use it as a thicknesser only, would you like some knives?

I got mine with some really knackered ones installed and a spare set freshly sharpened.

The problem is they've been sharpened one too many times and they're not tall enough to reach the outfeed table at its recommended height. I checked and they work just fine in thicknesser mode.

I've honed them and they leave a great finish, they're ready to go :)
