I've got many happy memories of that particular part of Devon.

How far away from there are you?

I'm in Paignton, I went to school with a Tony Spear in Tottenham, N.London?

Not me! Although born on the edge of Birmingham (both Grandads worked at Longbridge, one on the shop floor and the other was the Works Manager) I'm a Gloucestershire boy at heart.

No, I was on holiday duty... Looking around I don't think I have the physique for the RNLI these days. There was a time when it was beardy blokes in knitted jumpers. Now it seems you have to be a sun-bleached blonde who looks good on a quad bike, surf board, etc...

(Small print: But not detracting from their ability and dedication...)

I did also venture in to Paignton, to the zoo, on "kid day out duty". Nice zoo - horrible crowds.
