Afternoon all

I recently got an old Delta 2 speed 16" scrollsaw which has the quickchange blade clamps but the tool to undo the bottom clamp 4mm hex with a locking bar was missing.

Im currently away from home at work and would like to make one while im here but think I left my estimated dimensions behind, was wondering does anyone have one of these that they could possibly measure up for me so I can manufacture one at all.

Im pretty sure it was a 5dia lower bar with a 4mm hex key above that to unlock the clamp.

Any help would be appreciated if not no worries will leave it till next week and make one.

Cheers

Leslie

Hi Leslie,
I have one and if you can wait till tomorrow I will send pictures and dimensions

John

That's brilliant john thanks would be much appreciated.

Looked on eBay but could not find one so be easier to make it.

Cheers

Hi Leslie,

The hexagonal end for tightening/undoing is 4 mm, the sharp end that goes through the fitting and acts like a fulcrum tapers from @5mm.
The two holed pieces are 25mm long and the little wing fitting is for aligning different sizes of blades and you can use a pair of pliers or a small spanner

Hope the pics make it easier

Hi John that's brilliant thanks very much, I never knew there was a wing fitting as well so that's new to me.

That should give me most of the dimensions needed using the ruler image as well thanks.

One last dimension I just wanted to check if possible is from the centre of the hex to the centre of the 5dia bar so I know how far to space them apart.

I was going to measure this off the scrollsaw holes in the bottom blade clamp.

Many thanks for doing that appreciate the time.

Leslie

Hi Leslie
From the centre of the Hex to the centre of the 5mm bar is 12mm , the gap between is 6 mm and the overall measurement from outside to outside is 16mm
Included all measurements so the maths can verify

Hope this is ok

John

Spot on John thanks for quick reply that's brilliant I will make a start on that later today.

Cheers

Glad I could help-- you have an excellent scroll saw especially if you have the quick clamp for the top blade holder
I think this is the best blade holding configuration that has ever been produced wish it was on all scroll saws
My Delta is now my back up saw but I would never sell it
Enjoy it and let's see some of your work

John

Yep once I start getting some more bits made I will post them up on here no problem.

Mine does have the quick release top clamp as well which is handy, the machine just needs some TLC

Never quite finished today halfway there
