Deck oil / treatments for Yellow Balau????

Hi, I am looking for recommendations for a deck oil or treatment to prevent yellow balau losing its colour, going silver. I realise the wood does not need treatment to prevent it rotting etc but it loses its colour untreated, I want to retain that caramel colour it has when new or when wet but without a glossy finish if possible

Harry, I tried for 4 years to stop my Yellow Balau deck going silver. It's a losing battle. I used Seasonite and Textrol. Neither worked.

Hi Harry,
I was going to reply with "Good luck" but i didnt want to seem cheeky :lol:
As Wizer has said its a loosing battle, its the uv rays that do the damage.
Most decking oils provide some protection.
Keep it clean and apply a thin coat to it every six months with whatever oil you choose.

Pure tung oil will provide a matt finish, but takes an age to dry and is expensive
