If you mean make the blade shorter, there are nearly worn out chisels out there, ie been sharpened so much that's only a stubby bit of blade left. Which means you don't have to cut down your own chisels and use up their life prematurely.

Thanks Pete, that's what I'll do I think. Tho that blade being a 1/4 of the price of said chisel I'll first make do with what I got hss blade or something like that.
John- I know what your saying but then it wouldn't be my fave chisel :) also a but chisel is naturally shorter to increase control. I'll only be taking off about an 1"
I'm just making do with what I got.
Cheers

If you own or can borrow a 4" grinder, you can get slitting disks from screwfix etc. Only about 1mm thick and cut through steel with ease.

You are going to grind a new bevel anyway, so grind the chisel carefully on it's side where you need the new bevel until it's nearly through then snap it off. Just be careful you don't burn it, then grind it properly.

All fantasic Ideas thank you. This mess around project was on impulse due to other thread.
Not sure what method I will use, probably just "sawNshape)

Thanks

A Dremel will cut through a chisel if you have a little patience.
Rest it half in a dish of water when you are cutting
