Cupboard lock

Morning all, I'm building some cupboards for a client. She is expecting a baby and wants all the doors to have locks on them. The doors are plain 18mm mdf. I'm a bit unsure as to what I need, I assumed I would just buy some very small rim locks but there is a huge amount of choice. Is this the kind of thing I'm after?
The doors will all be in pairs.

I've used these in the past.. You'll have to fix them either top or bottom of the door though http://m.ironmongerydirect.co.uk/produc ... ted/145525

The ones you have linked to look like a neater solutions though.

The only trouble with the ones in your link is your hole drilling will have to be spot on, with mine there's a bit of wiggle room because the fronts got a lip.

I remember when my kids were babies, messing about with keys when trying to open a cupboard when the baby is crying, sick, hungry etc, would not have gone down well. Why not use something simpler like the child locks available from Ikea or a simple wooden latch like John Heisz used on his heated cabinet. See here:

These don't require any holes to be drilled in the doors and can be removed when they've grown up a bit.

We have these on our kitchen cupboard doors. Absolute rubbish. Three out of seven have snapped after about 6 months use.

Yeah, I like that idea. But in this case I'll give the client what she wants. I have said how about some latches or bolts heigh up. She wants locks though.
