Hi Lads and Lasses

Just home from work  and have some time to put the photos on .

As mentioned I had NO time to take photos of the loading as we were tight for time

All the wood is in my lock up

So these photos are of the bits unloaded at home , most items went down my narrow side pedestrian walk way , but the compressor and the VB had to go the long way round , four houses down is a shared drive

Total journey for the VB was about 400 feet
So as the drive way is grass and mud I had 6 off 8 x 4 sheets of ply , we laid them end on end and rolled the pallet truck ( Given free ) over the sheets till we got to sheet 6 , then we had to move the other 5 sheets and roll the pallet truck again , then along the back of the gardens

Yes Tom , managed to gut the garage and clear loads of unused items to the recycling depot

I had the garage empty except the band saw , extractor and P/T and now look at it  full again
Moved the racking and contents into the shed

Will line and insulate the walls when on holiday next , and sort out the roof ready for the refit and turning it into my turning shop

Form a queue for a go on the VB :p  8)

I have and use regularly a Startrite Mercury pillar drill exactly the same as the one pictured. There is no play in the quill and feels a precision machine i recommend it for wood work.

Cant imagine some bloke going down that back lane with a VB36 on his back   .There are'nt many of us left that could do it    . REgards Boysie

Fantastic haul Blister,

Think the air filter on the compressor might want cleaning

I can see from the photos that the previous owner had a dust extractor, but did they ever switch it on??? :?

I hope you have everything sorted soon & that you have many happy hours turning on what looks to be a terrific lathe. I`ve yet to see a VB in the flesh, so to speak, but it sure looks the business :tongue9: :tool:

We have those jet filters at the club and with 10 lathes going all at the same time 3 of them deall really well with the dust with little or no dust settling anywhere. They are up on the ceiling and seem to keep the air moving all the time.

This is a sad day for everybody. At last it looks like Blister has his dream lathe and will no longer be buying and selling. How will we fill our spare time now that the messages of travelling the world to buy a workshop have finished? No more humping lathes. No more wheeling and dealing. Just one great big lathe and a man on a mission to find BIG chunks of wood.

Woohoo! Can't wait to see what you manage to get on the lathe Blister!

If you think this is going to stop him you don't know him. Apparently already has a trip to make for something. He's lost the 'I am not a dealer I just have too many tools' signature but the heart is the same
